A COMPLIMENTARY LETTER FROM DG TONY

Dear PDGs, Lead the Way Presidents & Secretaries, District Officers, Rotaractors,

My heartiest thankfulness to IPP K L Cheng of Rotary Club of Kwai Chung and IPP Alex Leung of Rotary Club of Peninsula Sunrise who had organised for us the Centennial Cup Horse Race and our District Sports Day respectively on last weekend and last Sunday.

...... Indeed we have a beautiful Sunday with beautiful sunshine and a bit chilly weather. I was at the venue, the Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground at 11:30 a.m. I could see quite some Rotarians and their families there and many people from other organizations. Later I was told that we had invited 25 NGOs to participate our District Sports Day.

Apart from the sports events, we also had several game booths that attracted many children and elderly people to participate. I could see their happy smiles with their hands holding their awarded gifts. We also had family teams events, lion and dragon dances, elderly dance, combat shows, Tai-ji shows and many more.

We had the honor to have Mr. Yip Man Kuen, Associate Counsel and Division Chief of the Liaison Office of the Central Peoples Government in the Hong Kong S.A.R. to officiate our District Sports Day.

Honestly, I had participate most of the District Sports Days in the last decade as a photographer and I am so happy and proud to say that we had a very successful District Sports Day on last Sunday.

I must congratulate IPP Alex Leung and his Organising Committee especially President Katherine Yuen of Peninsula Sunrise who had given unfailing support for this District event.

Dear Estella,

Pls. named the NGOs here so that all can know who they are and how many people will be coming from the NGOs concerned.

What kind of performance they are going to provide, I assume that they will bring along with their own equipment. Any sound system is required.

I understand that a coach can carry 50 passengers only.
May be we have to arrange three coaches for the NGOs requiring transportation support.
Pls. advise of the pick up points.

3. A canopy of size 3m x 3m for each game stall is being arranged. Be ready before 1030 hrs. on the day.
4. Volunteers of NGOs will design for the stall themselves. They may ask for some money for decoration but it is strongly advised to keep the expenses to the mininmal. Pls. invite them to use existing material / used material instead of buying any new stuff.
5. Gifts will be provided through organiser

E. Exhibition Stalls
1. Over 5 stalls will be opened - health related

F. Performance
1. Open area in the football pitch, grass land, will be used for any performance from NGO.
2. Pls. reject any performance which is too noisy. There were complaints from residents nearby before.
3. No allowance / money will be provided, except with very special reasons.

The captioned annual event for the current year will be held at Kowloon Tsai Park, Inverness Road, Kowloon City, Kowloon on 2006-12-17 (SUN).

2. Whilst we have the competitions similar to those orgnaised last year, we have invited more than 10 volunteer groups to arrange booths with fun games for us as well as patients suffering from cancer, handicapped or other sickness.

3. Lots of gifts have been obtained as prizes. In addition, some exhibition booths will be set up to introduce the importance of keeping ourselves more healthily. Performances are also being arrnaged for.

4. A brief powerpoint file together with the registration form are attached below for your reference. I should be grateful if you could pass on this message to your members and invite your family members and friends to join.
